BOMBS away! We still LOVE bathbombs!

Bathbombs are all the rage – and it isn’t any wonder why we all love them so.

Packed together dry with other ingredients, baking soda and citric acid are completely non-reactive. As soon as they are introduced to water, they dissolve and effervesce, releasing the other ingredients into the bath water.
At Passion Flower beauty, we use natural ingredients like organic shea butter, essential oils, sunflower oil and sea salt. Some contain dried flower petals and even glitter!
Our bath bombs are moisturizing to the skin, and invigorating to the senses. Aromatherapy has been known to help with everything from stress to the common cold – and the pure essential oils in our bathbombs can sooth tired muscles, as well as your   stuffy sinuses.

While the glitter used in some of these bath bombs is biodegradable, and considered safe and eco-friendly, we know that some of our friends are still concerned and would rather not use the glitter bombs. We have plenty to choose from.
Ninja bombs, Star Wars bombs, eucalyptus, calendula, chocolate mint, lemongrass, cucumber melon, sinus relief, stress relief, lavender, cuppa joe, blueberry, detox, lavender sage, oatmeal milk and honey, festival, tie dye, Moroccan vanilla, and lavender mint are all free of glitter, and full of relaxing ingredients- and a couple of them even have a toy inside!! (And they make great holiday gifts and stocking stuffers!)

Colors of the Rainbow: All at Passion Flower Beauty

Eyeshadow is my passion. When I first moved to Richmond, Virginia, years ago, I told myself that I would follow my passion. I found a lot of distributors and I started making eyeshadows. That was on July 4th, 2014. Here is it, 2018, June 16th. Making eyeshadow is still a passion of mine, but I have branched out a bit. I am happy to say that Passion Flower Beauty has much more than just eyeshadows now. We have grown tremendously and that is with the help of my faithful customers.

Let’s talk about eyeshadow though. Let’s talk colors. Our website currently has over 95 colors of eyeshadows! Yes! That’s right! Why so many colors? Well, I love color. If I love it and want to wear it, why wouldn’t my customers?! Here’s a brief idea of the color choices: the galaxy collection, the scandalous collection, mermaid collection, and the unicorn collection. We pride ourselves in having beautiful and bright colors for all of our fans! Some of our favorites are: Green Machine, Teal Me In, and Satin Bronze.

When it comes to Passion Flower Beauty, we value the opinions of our customers. All of our eyeshadows are all-natural and never tested on anyone, but us! Check out all of our exciting colors at http://www.passionflowerbeauty.com.

Sugar scrubs

                                  Sugar Scrubs

What is sugar scrub? What are they used for? Why do I use them? Are they good for me? Why sugar?  We all have questions about sugar scrubs, but let’s find out exactly what sugar scrubs are and the many benefits and uses we can get from them.

scrub-548198_1920

Sugar scrubs are an exfoliating body treatment. These are a much more gentle alternative to salt scrubs, that many of you have heard of. When spas began to open, they used salt scrubs as the most common treatment for the body.  Salt scrubs were considered to be more effective at exfoliating the skin because of how rough and aggressive they were. This actually hurt the body more than helped it. Soon after spas found out the salt scrubs hurt the body, they moved onto sugar scrubs. A sugar scrub actually is great for sensitive skin and those who are trying to find a new, gentle way to exfoliate the skin. Sugar scrubs hydrate your skin and leave it feeling soft and silky.

So what are the benefits to sugar scrubs?

Regularly exfoliating your skin once or twice a week helps to speed up the skin’s regeneration process, removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores to refresh, smooth and polish skin. We should exfoliate because what we eat, drink, and hormones can cause our bodies to become dry, red, puffy, etc. This is why we need to exfoliate. In order to balance out our skin we need to exfoliate often.

Why sugar scrubs?  A natural sugar scrub can help to remove dry and flaking skin cells and brighten tired, dull looking skin to promote smooth and healthy skin. It is important to give your skin a hand and make sure its unclogged and clarified. This is achieved by exfoliating regularly.

Sugar scrubs come in many colors and fragrances. It is best to find the all-natural ones that can help your skin to feel healthier in just a few uses. Passion Flower Beauty has quite a few of these sugar scrubs and you can find them online at http://www.passionflowerbeauty.com.

pexels-photo-221074

By now, you have heard all of the rumors about coconut oil. The great thing about these so-called rumors is that most of them are true! And by most, we mean about 98%!

Coconut oil has gained quite the reputation among the natural beauty world and for good reason. One of the best carrier oils on the market, coconut oil can be used with your essential oils and even in your food! The benefits of coconut oil seem almost unreal, but if you haven’t been using it, now is as good a time as any to start!

Take Care of Your Hair

If you have a constant battle with fighting dandruff, coconut oil could be your solution! It can also help to rebuild your damaged hair. Coconut oil can actually help to repair the moisture levels in your hair when can fight damage and dandruff. If you have noticed that you need more and more conditioner each time that you wash your hair, try adding some coconut oil into your hair washing routine. You can even find coconut oil based shampoos and conditioners that will give your hair that extra boost.

Protecting Your Brain

One of the most beneficial properties of coconut oil is the large quantity of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA) that it contains, as opposed to the long-chain fatty acids that many other foods contain. Ketones are utilized by the brain as an important energy source and have been shown to have possible therapeutic effects on people suffering from memory loss, such as in case of Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, unique phenolic compounds and hormones found in coconut oil may be able to prevent the aggregation of amyloid beta peptides, which are part of a leading theory concerning the cause of Alzheimer’s.

Need to Lose Those Extra Pounds?

Coconut oil contains the fatty acids that help to boost your metabolism. When you cook with coconut oil or use it in any of your foods, the way that the food digests is much different than with other oils. It can also help to reduce your appetite so that you will not be snacking during the day and adding more and more calories into your diet. If coconut oil can boost metabolism and reduce appetite, then it should help you lose fat over the long term.

These are just a few uses for coconut oil, but at Passion Flower Beauty, we use our fair amount of coconut oil as a carrier oil and as one of the main ingredients in quite a few of our products. A few bath bombs use them and you have probably noticed that when you use them. Your skin will feel so soft and silky shortly after. If you are uncertain on the brand of coconut oil that you should invest in, here is a great resource https://www.reviews.com/coconut-oil/.

For the Love of Lemongrass

flowers-3160012_1920

Ahh the fresh smell of Lemongrass. We have really started to love it more and more here at Passion Flower Beauty. What is it about that fragrance? Is it the sweet, citrus scent or the way it makes us feel? Recently, we have noticed that Lemongrass has gained quite a bit of popularity. That is why we wanted to share with all of our fans what we have found on it.

Lemongrass is native to Asia and has been used for centuries in healing ailments such as colds. It is now being used in Aromatherapy for killing germs and helping to reduce muscle aches and pains. The aroma of it is much like lemon, but with a little sweeter touch to it.

There has been quite a bit of scientific research done on Lemongrass and the findings have been quite astonishing! When used in an office setting, when Lemongrass was diffused, it actually helped to get rid of 85% of the bacteria and germs that were lingering around the office! Science has also proven that it can help you to fight off pesky insects like mosquitoes.

At Passion Flower Beauty, we have been using Lemongrass in our lotions and soaps. We are launching a new line of Lemongrass soaps and Goat’s Milk. These soaps will help those sore muscles and keep your body smelling and feeling good!

When used in lotions, Lemongrass has antiseptic properties as well. It can help to treat internal and external wounds. If you have a cut or scrape, applying Lemongrass to the cut will help it heal and without becoming infected.

Lemongrass can also be used to help get rid of headaches. When you add two drops of Lemongrass to a carrier oil such as coconut oil, then apply it to your temples, you will be able to find some relief from those awful headaches.

Lemongrass not only has these healing powers, but it can also help to boost your mood. Being a citrus oil means that it has mood balancing properties much like wild orange and grapefruit. Are you curious about Lemongrass? Let us answer all of your questions and even tell you where to find the best!

For The Love of Soaps!

pexels-photo-235842-2

Have I mentioned how much I love making soaps? Seriously, it’s as if I can’t get enough. Just the past week, I had a custom order for unicorn soaps for one of my favorite three year olds at my preschool! I was so delighted when I talked to her mom about how fun bath time was with these soaps! Things like this make my heart smile so big!

I’m here to talk about the benefits of goat’s milk soap, 98% of the soaps on http://www.passionflowerbeauty.com are made of goat’s milk. Do you know a lot about goat’s milk? Oh, pull up a chair, I can share some information with you.

Goat milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid which help remove dead skin cells from your skin’s surface. This leaves new cells on the surface of your skin that are smoother and younger looking. The alpha-hydroxy acids are so effective because they break down the bonds that hold the dead skin cells together. Removing dead skin cells will help many skin conditions by removing irritation. Water-based soaps may use harsh chemical acids to accomplish this, frequently with skin-damaging results.

pexels-photo-773252

Goat milk contains many vitamins, but is particularly high in Vitamin A, which is necessary to repair damaged skin tissue, and maintain healthy skin. There have been several medical studies showing that creams made with Vitamin A reduce lines and wrinkles, control acne, and provide some psoriasis relief. Water-based soaps can be artificially fortified with vitamins, but most aren’t.

Fat molecules are an important part of making good soap. The cream that is present in goat milk helps boost the moisturizing quality of goat milk soaps. Since many people suffer from dry skin, particularly in the winter months, this is an important quality for soap. Goat milk soap will not dry your skin out like many other soaps. This is important because keeping skin naturally moisturized helps keep skin healthy.

Goat milk contains important minerals for the skin such as selenium. Selenium is believed by scientists to have an important role in preventing skin cancer. Selenium can also help prevent damage to the skin from excessive time in the sun. Although the water used in other soaps may contain minerals such as calcium, sodium, or iron (commonly found in tap water), that’s not much help when it comes to your skin.
