Daily Goodie Box

home-goodie-box-09For those of you who are into the box subscriptions, I found one that offers some healthy snacks and flavorings for your waters. The Daily Goodie Box was sent to me to review. I actually had my husband eat a lot of the items in the box because of my digestive disease. The box included the following:

Älsa – Energy Drink Mix: I received three flavors and I loved all of them. They did give me a little bit of a boost and since I am trying to cut out coffee, I would buy these again!

Herr’s – Tangy BBQ Popped Chips: These chips were not my favorite by any means. I guess I needed more of the BBQ flavor than they had. The taste was light and fluffy though.

Natralia – Anti-itch Soothing Cream: I am in love with this cream! I would recommend it to those of you who are looking for products along the natural care line. It was great to have a cream not break out my skin.

Dream Water – Sleep Powder: I like this flavor, but it did not put me to sleep. However, it did calm my nerves and allow me to relax quite a bit.

RawRev – Raw Superfood Bars: For raw food bars, these were delicious! The chocolate and peanut butter one was amazing! I wanted another one after I finished it!

EM+PACT – Protein & Energy Bars: I was unable to eat these, but my husband really likes them.

Gary Poppins – Simply Sea Salt: I was also unable to eat the popcorn. My husband ate it and he said it was missing a little flavor. He was expected a more salty flavor than what was on the popcorn. He did say that it is light and fluffy though.

Overall, this was a pleasant experience. Daily Goodie Box information can be found at: http://www.dailygoodiebox.com

Fighting the Winter Dry Skin

A recent social media conversation that I started made me want to find more natural ways to beat this winter dry skin. It has always been rough on me, but since moving to Colorado, I have noticed crazy cracking of my skin and my knuckles are bleeding. The combination of the work that I do requires that I was my hands frequently. This is probably cause number one, but guess what, I will not stop washing my hands. (Especially around small children…EWW..Germs!)

So I decided to take a new look at ways to heal this winter dry skin more naturally. Here is what I have found so far. Making an olive oil scrub can help to put moisture back into your skin. It will hurt the red parts for a little bit, but as soon as that passes, you will start to feel the soothing sensation. All you need is 4 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of honey,  and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix them together and put it on the parts of your skin that are the driest. Leave it on for about 5 or 7 minutes, take a shower and you will feel the change almost immediately.

Honey is another product that you may just have sitting around in your kitchen. Did you know that you can use it for relieving your winter skin too? It has vitamins and minerals that can help to keep your skin soft and looking youthful. Before you take a bath or shower, rub honey on the spots of your body that are suffering the most from the pain of winter dry skin. Leave it on for about 5 minutes. I do realize that you will be a sticky mess, but it will work. After your shower, your skin will feel so much better.honey-823614_1920

Last, but certainly not least, try coconut oil. It works on nearly everything! Coconut oil has become the fastest growing oil in the past decade. You can cook with it, use it on your skin, and in your hair. Is there anything it can’t do?! Put it on your face and hands when you wake up and before you go to sleep. You will notice how great your skin feels almost instantly.
