One of the first times that I decided to start my own make-up company was during a visit to a mall in Florida. (I think it was Florida.) I was with my friend Marcelle. We ended up shopping for make-up and the all-natural brand that I decided on pretty much broke my bank. I couldn’t believe that I had spent $100 on four different eye shadow colors. That is when I said “I can figure this out and do it myself.” A few months later, I opened this company. Passion Flower Beauty is for my lovely ladies who want to have all-natural make-up at the affordable price. If I can wear it, and I am allergic to everything, any of you can. I put my heart and soul into making this product and I want all of my amazing ladies to know that. That is why I started this blog for my website. Each entry will give you a little bit more about me, these products, and other natural ways that you can show others just how beautiful you are inside and out. Thanks for taking the time to read this. It means the world to me.
Every few months or so, we like to share with our loyal fans some of the other products that we love. We work with Daily Goodie Box to help share some awesome products that came to us in the mail. Part of doing our part for our fans is to recommend some products that they could use in their daily lives too.
We recently received the November Goodie Box and we have really enjoyed the products in it. Here is an idea of what we received and our honest opinion on the products in the Daily Goodie Box.
The seasons are changing! There is a chill in the air that some of us have looked forward to! The holiday season is approaching; And while some are so excited, others dread what comes with that cooler weather – COLD AND SINUS ISSUES!
Some struggle with stuffy noses and itchy sinuses the entire cold season. It seems just when we start to feel better, something else gets stuffy or starts to bother us. Enter, MAGICAL eucalyptus to the rescue!
For centuries, Eucalyptus has been known for its medicinal qualities. Not only does the aroma help clear the sinuses, but the essential oils from the Eucalyptus may be effective in fighting viruses and bacteria that cause colds and sinus issues.
At Passion Flower Beauty, we have several products that include magical eucalyptus! The Sinus Relief bath bomb, the Eucalyptus bath bomb, the shower steamers and the Stress Relief bath bomb all have this special plant to help all your aches and pains this cold season!
Rooibos, or “red bush” comes from South Africa. The leaves of this herb can be used to make a rich, red tea that is caffeine free and full of anti-oxidants. Consumed largely in South Africa for many years, it is now used all over the world, where it is fast becoming known for its amazing anti-oxidant properties. We are excited about using it in our newest facial creme!
Rooibos possesses a large amount of minerals such as iron, copper, calcium, potassium and magnesium, and also has polyphenols and alpha hydroxy acid. What does all this mean for skin? Well, we will tell you!!
Some of the rare anti-oxidants in rooibos have amazing anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and even anti-bacterial qualities. This is great for people who have common skin problems, such as eczema, some types of acne, and other problem skin. Some of these anti-oxidants are hard to find in other herbs, so using rooibos in our facial creme makes it unlike most you can find anywhere else.
Our new facial creme is an exfoliate. It helps scrub away the dead skin cells so that new cells can be created. Rooibos helps remove the dead skin cells, and then aids in promoting the production of healthy skin cells This creme leaves your skin feeling and looking clearer and healthier – because it actually is.
But that is not all there is to love about this amazing herb. We know it fights common skin irritations, acne, and even bacterial infections; yet there is still another quality of this fantastic plant – ANTI-AGING!! The great and powerful rooibos helps combat and neutralize free radicals, which are a major culprit in causing the fine lines and wrinkles we all dread. With regular use, it can even reduce the appearance of those wrinkles!
We are so excited about using rooibos in our products, and we hope you will give it a try. You will be so glad you did!
When most people think about charcoal, it has to do with the grill – but activated charcoal is so much different than those little briquettes that glow with heat!
Activated Charcoal is derived from many of the same things as charcoal briquettes. Basically it is carbon that has been oxidized in order to increase its absorption properties. The oxygen “activates” the charcoal, making it a powerful tool in the absorption of toxins and bacteria in the body, and on the body.
We here at Passion Flower Beauty use activated charcoal in many of our soaps and bath bombs. Not only is it proven to detoxify, it can also aid in removal of dead skin cells, which allows faster and more efficient production of new ones! It also can help with the appearance of large pores, acne issues, minor skin irritations and can even help balance oily skin.
Activated charcoal helps draw the toxins and bacteria to the surface, and then binds to it, to pull it out and then simply wash away. It leaves your skin feeling clean and invigorated!
For centuries, Green Tea has been a staple in China. It has even been used as medicine throughout Asia. It is no secret that Green Tea contains antioxidants that can benefit aspects of health from weight to diabetes to inflammation and even cardiovascular health. What some do not know is that the powerful antioxidants found in Green Tea can also do AMAZING things for our skin!
In comparison to other teas, Green Tea is special. Green Tea does not go through the same processing as other teas, like black tea or oolong tea. This difference in processing allow Green Tea to retain the rich antioxidants, amino acids, polyphenols, vitamins and enzymes it possesses naturally. These antioxidants are what gives it such awesome medicinal qualities – like the power to actually repair DNA – which is great news for our bodies, including our skin.
Passion Flower Beauty is passionate about skin and caring for skin. We believe in only the best ingredients for our products and we want to help you better your skin – which is why we are so excited about using Green Tea in our products, like our Buddha-ful handmade soap. Green Tea detoxifies and can help flush out the daily toxins that come in contact with our skin. It exfoliates and nourishes the skin, and can actually repair DNA, which can reverse sun damage and signs of aging.
A powerful anti-inflammatory, Green Tea can also aid in the appearance of eye puffiness and skin sagging. It can help with redness and acne. It has also been known to give relief to those suffering with such skin issues as psoriasis and rosacea. Green tea can even prevent skin cancer!!
Try our Buddha-ful Handmade soap with Green Tea today, and enjoy all these benefits. Be on the lookout for more Green Tea products in the future!
We here at Passion Flower Beauty care about our products and our friends. We go the extra mile to ensure that all of our ingredients are natural, and that our friends are happy with our product – which is why we have a special line of our handmade products, designed especially with men in mind!
More and more men are becoming concerned with the care they give themselves. The truth is that some men have special needs that women do not think of! Men who have more sensitive skin have to worry even more about the products they use. Regular shaving can really do a number on skin, and skin care for men is so full of alcohol and chemicals that can contribute to dry, flaky skin, razor burn and even break outs! Our shaving cream is made with aloe, papaya and pineapple to help soften the coarse hair, and sooth that fresh skin underneath. Cocoa butter and other essential oils leave the skin moisturized and nourished, naturally – with ZERO chemicals!
For those that choose to keep a beard, our mustache and beard oil can help keep it looking and feeling healthy! With Organic Moringa oil, Marula Oil and Hemp Seed Oil, your beard will be soft and smooth!
We also have several soaps geared towards our male friends like Bay Rum Soap, Chai Tea, The Woodsman, and our popular Horntail Handmade soap – inspired by the Hungarian Horntail Dragon and made with Dragon’s Blood essential oil! Make sure to check out our men’s line today! http://passionflowerbeauty.tictail.com/products/just-for-men
Making soaps is one of our loves. Ever since we began doing it, we have felt this sense of pride as we cut each one. The molds that we have are all part of the personalities here at PFB. The ingredients are our favorite scents, oils, and colors. You are probably thinking, “how do you get those amazing colors?” The answer, our friends, is natural colorants.
It is difficult to find the most natural and healthy ingredients to put in our soaps. We have change the soap recipes so many times and we have now gotten our soaps to where we want them. Healthy, healing, and all-natural. This has come with time, a lot of time in the lab, and testing out things over and over again. We are proud of what we have done and want to introduce you to more of our colorants.
Orange Peel Powder
Orange peel powder has been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. We use it to add yellows and oranges to our soaps. It has a small aroma to it, but we love to mix it with Wild Orange and Tangerine oils.
Rose clay is in the Kaolin clay family. It is generally used to help to exfoliate the skin and we love the beautiful light pink, dark pink, and almost red shades that it brings to our Rose soaps.
Madder root powder can give soaps a bright orange and bright red look. It is generally used for softening the skin and making it have a healthy glow.
This is one of our favorites because it’s something that we use for smoothies too! It is very green in color and makes gorgeous greens and blues when mixed with whiter powders.
For the black color in soaps, we like to use activated charcoal. It is also in our mascaras. It can make beautiful blacks and grey.
Although it looks red in color, when added to our melt and pour process, it comes out very grey and blue. Made from the flowers of local hibiscus flowers too!
We are always experimenting with different flowers from our greenhouses to add color and aromas to our soaps. We will continue to find new, all-natural colors to add to our soaps.
In fact, we have quite a few new ones that features these powders. Please check out the soaps at http://www.passionflowerbeauty.com.
